Nassau County, FL Information

Located north of Downtown Jacksonville, Nassau County includes Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach, Yulee and many other communities. It's considered a part of the Jacksonville Metro area and has a population around 75,000 residents.

Amelia Island is the most well-known area of Nassau County and attracts many tourists every year. The many golf courses are also a big draw within the area.

The county was created in 1824 from a portion of Duval County. It was named for the Duchy of Nassau in Germany. The county also includes a few historic places, such as:

All three of these buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
